DJ Trax is a new member of the BFLF tribe and here he gives us some highlight of his DJing career so far. Take it away Dave……
‘I am so lucky to have played at so many amazing raves, clubs, bars and strange spaces since I started playing in the late 80`s.
I have played lots of big clubs in the UK but, some of the events I remember most fondly are World Party around 1990. Age 17 I was the scratch DJ for Bug Kaan + the Plastic Jam. I performed with them to 40,000 ravers in a huge tent!
Other venues include a glider airport in Budapest, the most amazing bar I have ever seen, looking over Lake Como(Italy), a really quirky opera house in Copenhagen and an old squat called the Sexy Ape in Antwerp (Belgium). I also enjoyed very strange events such as playing Poland in an abattoir with pigs hanging off the ceiling with Rave Like a Pig written on them and a chill out made out of meat chilling fridges.
I have been DJing for over 30 years and releasing records since 1991. Raving runs through my life and I was so excited to be asked to play for Big Fish Little Fish last year! I have a young son and was so proud that he saw me DJ. It was so wonderful I was keen to get more involved so, along with my partner, we are now running BFLF events in the East.
Our launch party is Sunday the 30th in a Big Top tent in Norwich. I will be playing alongside my old label mate(Moving Shadow) 2Bad Mice, I can`t wait! See you on the dance floor…..
