We’re delighted to be part of the Manchester Science Festival for the second year running and this is a party not to be missed! There will be all the usual BFLF fun PLUS we’ll be joined by both Lonely Planet Kids’ author Anne Rooney and Sarfari Phil with his critters, especially for the festival.

Hacienda legend Chad Jackson will be DJ-ing with (grown-up) dance tunes for family raving together on a dancefloor with confetti cannons, bubbles, giant balloons and our awesome parachute dance finale.

Craft tables with themed crafts, large colouring-in mural and playdough tables.

Play area with tents and tunnels and baby chillout space with mats, toys and small ball pool.

Free transfer tattoos and glowsticks.

Licensed bar

Facepainter stall and snacks available.

Optional fancy dress: Animal Fantastical – all animals real or imagined are welcome!

Extras espectially for the Manchester Science Festival…

Dinosaur Atlas author Anne Rooney and Lonely Planet Kids will be taking over the VIP area for the afternoon. Come and find out how big a Triceratops was and measure your foot against it’s footprint. Find out what dinosaurs ate and if you could eat a dino-diet? Try your hand at sorting out (fake!) dinosaur bones and working out what you think a dinosaur might have looked like. You can even decorate a dino with feathers…

Safari Phil will be bringing along a variety of exotic animals including giant snails and scorpions! His Critter Crew will be there, so you can learn how to handle the animals and gain a better knowledge of the species. Discover the microscopic world, record temperatures from a distance, see how scorpions glow under ultra violet light!

Adults remain responsible for their children at all times.

For families with younger children (8s and under) though all ages are welcome, as long as there are both adults and children in your party. Adult only groups are not admitted. A max of 3 children per adult in a family. If attending as a large birthday party please ensure one adult to two children minimum. The event will be busy. The dancefloor is for adults and children to dance together. For indoor events low lighting/club lighting rigs (no strobes) are used.

Music level is set and monitored throughout to abide by WHO guidelines. This is far lower than usual clubs levels but given the number of children attending there is a constant level of background noise during the event.

Please be aware that events are standing/dancing with limited seating.

Each event is stewarded and risk assessed in advance.

Buggies must be left in buggy park outside the event space and will not be allowed on the dance floor.

A licensed bar will be open during the event but no glass is permitted.

We may photograph or film small parts of the event and by entering you are giving your permission for these to be used for BFLF promotion purposes.

DJs will be announced in advance of each party via Twitter and Facebook but may be subject to unavoidable change.
