BARKING RIVERSIDE, East London x Big Fish Little Fish ‘Eurovision’ Family Rave DJ Chad Jackson Sat 11 May 2-4pm

Get ready to rave on the riverside!

On Saturday 11th May, raving regulars Big Fish Little Fish will return to Barking Riverside, a major new East London neighbourhood, to host a “Eurovision” themed family rave.

Following the success of the sell-out ‘Back to School’ Rave at Barking Riverside last September, join our crew of seasoned ravers and parents for an afternoon of family fun overlooking a unique stretch of the River Thames. Party together on a dance floor filled with bubbles, balloons and foam, and topped off by the parachute dance. Three times World DJing Champion DJ Chad Jackson will provide the banging soundtrack of acid house classics onwards with a sprinkling of Eurovision favourites, with interactive Nifty Natty craft stations for little ones to get stuck into.

Guaranteed to keep you dancing throughout the afternoon, pop-up bar The Exchange will be supplying a full range of wine, beer and soft drinks, as well as special kid-inspired refreshments. A street food van will be on offer for guests to enjoy as a dancing pit stop.

Who are Big Fish Little Fish?

Established in 2013, Big Fish Little Fish is the Original Family Rave are an independent, grassroots music and events crew who host family raves across the UK, Australia & California. Drawing on their experience as ravers and parents, the BFLF team create anarchic, social, daft fun for all ages. BFLF’s family raves are as fun for parents, grandparents and carers as they are for children!

What is Barking Riverside?

A destination for growing families, Barking Riverside is an exciting new neighbourhood in an area the size of London’s Hyde Park on the banks of the River Thames in East London. Thousands of new homes and brand-new facilities are being built in this emerging area, which is already home to a diverse and warm community.

Health and Safety information:

Parents remain responsible for their children at all times.

The event location is outdoors, a few metres from an unfenced stretch of the River Thames. The event space is secured by picket fencing for the safety of children. Underfoot, the terrain is a mix of astroturf, with areas of gravel and shrubbery and sloped areas. There is also a sandpit for children to play in, plus an adjoining decking area with a small amount of seating. There is a teepee tent erected in the space that will provide some shade cover.

Buggies must be left in the buggy park and will not be allowed on the dance floor. Buggy parking is limited and will be operated on a first come, first served basis, buggies should be folded where possible. We advise small babies are worn in slings on the dancefloor.

Please be aware that this event is largely standing/dancing with very limited seating. Stewards and staff will be on hand on the day for any queries or problems.

Toilets and a baby changing area will be accessible.

How loud will it be?

BFLF sets and monitors the volume using World Health Organisation guidelines – so that is it at a safe level for everyone, even the youngest babies, over the 2-hour duration of the event. Though quieter than at adult events, it is still loud enough to feel like you are at a club. Most parents do not use ear defenders on their children but if yours are particularly sensitive to noise or if you want them to nap then you might want to consider it.
